 Heart Healthy Recipe Ingredients: 

  • 3 cups Hot Cooked Rice
  • 32 oz Canned Pinto Beans (or your favorite beans) - drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium Onion - chopped
  • 1 cup Sliced Celery
  • 1 tablespoon Butter or Margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 8 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Water



  • Cook onion and celery in butter in large skillet until tender. 
  • Stir in beans, salt, tomato sauce, pepper sauce and water. Heat thoroughly.
  • Serve over hot rice.

Vegetarian Main Meal - Serves 6
